Open to 3 brand partnerships for next month

Videos people watch to the end. send to their friends. save and rewatch. actually remember.

I'm Keyu, a Montréal creator, editor and content strategist. I make cinematic short videos for Instagram, and I help brands show up in something people would have watched anyway.

00 / Three myths

Your audience can smell an ad.
So I make ads creatives they'd watch anyway.

01

Myth: People skip branded content.

They skip ads, not brands.

People watch videos that tell them a story, teach them something useful or make them feel something, even with a brand in them. Your brand just has to earn its place in the video.

02

Myth: Premium video needs a film crew.

It needs the right person.

What makes a video feel premium is decided before the camera rolls: the hook, the framing, the light, the pacing, the sound. That's experience, and it's exactly what you're investing in.

03

Myth: If it looks good, it will sell.

Strategy is what sells.

A beautiful video still needs the right hook, the right message and a reason to act. Every video I make, for my page or for yours, is planned around what your audience needs to see before they buy.

01 / Selected work

Every frame counts.

Three projects, three kinds of clients. Start with the one closest to yours.

Aloya Festival · Montréal · Event recap · 30 s

A festival recap that makes you wish you'd been there.

I wanted someone watching from their couch to feel like they'd missed out. So I didn't film the stage. I filmed what people were doing: games, races, a basketball dunk, Pilates on a rooftop.

  1. Hook

A golden-hour shot of the crowd with "POV: summer in Montréal", then me welcoming you in. Within three seconds you know where you are and why to keep watching.

  2. Structure

Each sponsor activation plays like a small challenge with a prize, like free drinks or points, so the video moves like a game and ends on the sunset DJ set.

  3. Sound & look

Quick cuts on a pop track, a warm grade, and score-style captions such as "200 points" to keep it playful.

For your brand

Sponsors appear as something people play with, not a logo in the background. That's the part of an event people remember and come back for.

03 / How I learn

I break down every video I make.

After every video, I study what worked and what didn't: the hook, the pacing, where people dropped off. Here's one example, beat by beat. On your project, I apply those lessons in whatever style fits your brand, from storytelling to clean product content.

  1. 0–10s

    Hook with proof

"I may or may not have gotten free Fast Passes…" A risky claim, and the wristbands in hand right away, so the viewer has to see how.

  2. 10–22s

    A villain everyone shares

$50 tickets, $80 Fast Passes, $10 water. One meme turns personal frustration into something every viewer relates to.

  3. 22–33s

    The lightbulb

Endless lines, then the realization: people leaving the park throw away valid passes. The plan is set up in one beat.

  4. 33–53s

    Real tension, real footage

Cold-approaching families at the exit, filmed handheld. Will it work? The viewer stays to find out.

  5. 53–73s

Payoff & a reason to share

Skipping the queues, bonus food passes, then a game-style stat screen (+4 Charisma) that ends it on a laugh.

04 / How we work together

Creative instinct. Scientific process.

Start with an idea, figure out how to make it work, test it, fail, change something, try again. I learned it in research labs. Now I use it on your content.

  1. R

    Background research

I study your brand, your audience, your competitors and what's already working on the platforms, so we start from what's known.

  2. H

    Hypothesis

A clear, testable bet: "If we open on X and tell it as Y, this audience will stay and act." Written down before anything is filmed.

  3. E

    Experiment

Plan, shoot and edit. Each concept is cut with different hooks, changing one variable at a time so the test is fair.

  4. A

    Analyze

Retention curves, watch time, saves, shares, comments. We look at what the numbers and the audience are actually saying.

  5. C

    Conclusion

Did the evidence support the bet? I share what worked, what didn't and why, in plain language.

  6. I

    Iterate & improve

The next round starts from the winners. Every video makes the next one smarter.

05 / Who you'd work with

A letter, not a pitch.

How a student who loves storytelling ended up making content with brands.

  • 18, and already filming for festivals & brands
  • Based in Montréal, shooting wherever the idea takes me
  • I speak English, French & Mandarin
  • Founded Nymeris: two sold-out collections

  • Research intern at IRIC (UdeM), cancer biology
  • Led Cultural Affairs for my student union
  • Dean's List, Health Science at Marianopolis
  • Never a solo act: I work with a great team

06 / Why trust me

Trained in a lab.
Sharpened on the feed.

Before I made videos, I spent years on science research, and my projects won provincial and national awards. The way I work on content comes straight from that.

Project file · VisionnAIre

I built a low-cost AI that detects eye disease. I make videos the same way.

2.2 billion people live with visual impairment, and about 1 billion of those cases could have been prevented. The bottleneck is access: expensive equipment, too few specialists, slow diagnosis. So I designed an ultra-low-cost portable retinal camera prototype, built the datasets, trained convolutional neural networks to read eye images, and made an app to go with it.

97%+accuracy
8major eye diseases detected, plus healthy eyes
10+awards and honours, including Gold at the Canada-Wide Science Fair

What it taught me about making videos

Start with the problem, not the tool.

In the labVisionnAIre started from a question: why do a billion people lose sight they could have kept? The AI came after.

In your contentI start from what your customers care about, then decide what to film.

Test small before you go big.

In the labA prototype is never right the first time. You change one part, test again and keep what works.

In your contentI try different hooks and cuts before we put a budget behind one version.

Let the results tell you when you're wrong.

In the labA model is only as good as its data, and the accuracy score doesn't care how much you like your idea.

In your contentWatch time and drop-off show exactly where a video loses people, so the next one is better.

Make it clear in minutes.

In the labAt science fairs, judges give you a few minutes. If they don't understand the project, the work doesn't count.

In your contentOn Instagram you get a few seconds. Every video has to make sense right away.

Recognized by national & provincial awards, TV and radio features

I've been on your side too

I know what a brand needs from content, because I ran one.

I founded Nymeris, a student clothing brand, and led a team of 11 through design, branding and two launches. Both collections sold out. So when we work together, I think about what the video has to do for your business, not only how it looks.

Founding Brand Partners

I'm choosing 3 brands for my first long-term partnerships, at founding rates and with my full attention. In return, I get to share our results. Could the next logo be yours?

Every project is priced to fit. Book a free call and we'll find the best deal for both of us.

08 / Objections, handled

Questions brands ask before we collab.

Who are you, and why should I trust you with my brand?

I'm Keyu, a creator and editor based in Montréal. I started filming on an iPhone 13 and taught myself everything from framing to colour grading. Since then I've made videos for festivals, venues and causes, won national awards for my research, and built a clothing brand that sold out twice. The best way to judge is the work above, and the first call is free.

Will it look like an ad?

No, and that's the point. Every video is made to be worth watching on its own: it tells a story, teaches something useful or makes people feel something. I plan the hook, the pacing and the message around how people actually watch, and your product comes in the way I'd really use it. It still says exactly what you need it to say, and you'll know why it works.

Do you help with strategy, or only make videos?

Strategy comes first. Before filming, I look at your audience, your competitors and what's performing in your space, then plan the hooks and formats. After posting, we look at watch time and comments to make the next video better.

What do you need from us to get started?

A short call to understand your brand, your audience and what you want people to do after watching. I handle the rest: concept, plan, filming and editing. You approve the plan before I shoot and the cut before anything goes live.

How fast is the first cut?

Two to three business days after filming. Launching tomorrow? Ask about a 24h rush.

What if I don't like the edit?

Every video includes two rounds of revisions. Most land in one, because we agree on the hook and structure before I start editing.

Can you film, or do you only edit?

Both. I can edit footage you send me, or come film in and around Montréal. Most of my work is shot and edited by me, with a small team I trust for bigger shoots.

Do you work with creators too?

Yes. If you want to make better content yourself, I offer content coaching. It's listed in the offers above.

Which platforms and languages?

Mainly Instagram. Videos are made vertical-first, so they also work on TikTok and YouTube Shorts. I speak English, French and Mandarin, so we can work in whichever you prefer.

Montréal ·

I never really set out to become a content creator.

I've always just liked creating things.

When I was younger, it was drawings and paintings. Then I got into science and research. I loved that you could start with an idea, figure out how to make it work, test it, fail, change something, and try again.

That way of thinking ended up following me everywhere.

I started making science projects. I got involved in research. I played sports, organized events, travelled, joined student leadership organizations, and somehow always found another project to start.

Eventually, I started filming it.

At first, it was just because I wanted to remember these moments. But I also realized that I loved the process of turning something that happened in real life into a story that someone else would also want to watch and take inspiration from.

That became the videos I created.

A research project. A random trip with friends. Trying a new sport. Exploring Montréal. Going to an event. Building something from scratch.

I film the things I'm genuinely curious about, and I think that's why people connect with it. I'm not trying to look like I have life figured out. I'm a student trying things, making mistakes, meeting people, and trying to build something great to positively impact my environment.

Then something unexpected happened.

People started asking me to make videos for them.

Brands, businesses, events, restaurants and other creators started seeing the same thing I was doing for myself and asking, "We love your work! Can you do that for us?"

That's how this became more than just my personal content.

Today, I see what I do as sitting somewhere between a creator and a creative marketing studio.

On one side, I make content around my own life and build an audience that trusts my taste. On the other, I work directly with brands to turn their ideas, products and experiences into videos people actually want to watch.

And I think doing both makes me better at each.

When I'm making my own content, I learn what makes a real person stop scrolling, keep watching, and actually care.

When I'm working with a brand, I get to take that knowledge and apply it to their story.

I don't believe good branded content should feel like an advertisement with a creator standing in front of it.

It should feel like something you would have watched anyway.

That's the standard I try to bring to everything I make. I want the content to feel natural enough that my audience trusts it, but intentional enough that a brand knows why it is working.

So, ready to build something iconic that actually converts?
